Swinging Through the Music Jungle: The Grove

Deep in the lush greenery of Glasgow, a musical oasis beckons those who dare to leave the beaten path. The Grove, Kentucky’s only treehouse venue, rises above the forest floor like a hidden treasure, offering a unique escape for music lovers. 

Much like Tarzan’s jungle hideaway, it’s a place where nature and rhythm collide, creating an adventure for the senses.  

The Grove’s treetop setting is a stage like no other, immersing visitors in an enchanting blend of music and wilderness. From the moment you arrive, the rustling leaves and towering trees set the tone for an experience that feels more like an expedition than a night out. Once the music begins, it’s as if the forest itself comes alive, with every strum of a guitar echoing through the canopy. 

In 2022, Keller Williams took the stage with his one-of-a-kind looping artistry, weaving together a soundscape as intricate and dynamic as the forest itself. DeeOhGee followed with an Americana and rock performance that roared through the trees, proving The Grove’s ability to host a diverse range of acts. Looking ahead, the upcoming Back to Mac tribute show on June 29, promises to bring a nostalgic soundtrack to this untamed venue, with Fleetwood Mac hits echoing through the woodlands.  

In 2024, The Grove solidified its reputation as a premier outdoor venue, offering a diverse lineup of artists and performances that drew audiences from across the region. With its unique combination of open-air ambiance and stellar musical acts, the venue became a vibrant hub for live entertainment in south-central Kentucky.

The year kicked off with an intimate performance by John Moreland on June 8. Who was joined by Ken Pomeroy, both performances greeted crowds with ethereal voices and heartfelt performances..

Later that month, on June 29, The Grove welcomed Back to Mac, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band. Their nostalgic renditions of classics such as “Dreams” and “Go Your Own Way” transported fans back to the golden age of rock, creating an electric atmosphere that lingered long after the final note.

July brought the energetic sounds of Shadowgrass, a young but remarkably skilled bluegrass band, who performed on July 12. They were joined by the Magnolia Boulevard Duo, whose harmonies and dynamic performance complemented Shadowgrass’s lively set. Together, they delivered a night filled with rich melodies and intricate instrumentals that celebrated the traditions of bluegrass music.

As summer turned to fall, The Grove continued to impress with its lineup. On September 6, Hot Brown Smackdown took the stage, blending bluegrass with elements of funk and jazz to create a unique and high-energy performance. Sharing the spotlight with the Bibelhauser Brothers, the evening showcased the versatility and innovation within the bluegrass genre, leaving the audience energized and eager for more.

September 14 marked a particularly special evening as Sam Bush, a Grammy-winning mandolin virtuoso and pioneer of progressive bluegrass, graced the stage. Accompanied by Tophouse, a group known for their innovative and heartfelt sound, the night stood out as one of the year’s highlights, offering a seamless blend of tradition and experimentation.

The season concluded on October 4 with The Kody Norris Show. Known for their retro charm and traditional bluegrass flair, Norris and his band brought humor and authenticity to the stage, leaving the crowd with fond memories of an exceptional year at The Grove.

But The Grove isn’t just a venue—it’s a community hub that fosters connection. Its partnerships with music organizations and its dedication to providing a safe,fun space make it more than just a destination—it’s a home for music lovers.  

The new year kicks off on March 3, when Laurel Lewis takes the stage. Known for her expressive lyrics and powerful vocals, Lewis is expected to deliver a show that resonates with the audience and sets the tone for an incredible year of music at Kentucky’s only treehouse venue.
