Shoot For the Stars: Astrophotography Workshop at Mammoth Cave National Park

Capture the cosmos at Mammoth Cave! 
Join Mammoth Cave National Park for an Astrophotography Workshop on Friday, September 19!
Evening Schedule• 6:30 pm – Kick off the night with a special ranger-led program at the park’s outdoor amphitheater.
• 7:30 pm – Head to the visitor center to set up your gear and get ready to shoot the stars!
What to BringTo make the most of your night-sky shots, pack your camera kit with:
• DSLR or similar camera with a telephoto lens
• Sturdy tripod
• Extra batteries
• Remote shutter control
• Lens hood (to block ambient light)
• Handwarmers + rubber bands (to prevent lens fog)
• Camp chair + light jacket (for comfort)
No Gear? No Problem!Digital telescopes will be available for stargazing, and rangers will share tips on capturing the night sky with just your cellphone!
Ranger Tips & Guidance ProvidedWhile rangers will be on hand to offer advice, participants must bring their own photography equipment.
Heads UpAll activities are weather dependent and may be canceled in case of hazardous conditions.
